Intellectual property: Abidjan, a high-level African conference
The Ivorian economic capital hosted the Conference of Heads of Intellectual Property Offices of the OAPI space (HIPOC) on June 4 and 5. The event brought together officials from the 17 member states of the African Intellectual Property Organization. A highlight of the meeting was the presence of Daren Tang, Director General of WIPO, whose participation underlines the strategic importance of protecting innovation in Africa. The work focused on the modernization of intellectual property systems, the strengthening of mechanisms for the protection of patents, trademarks and creations, as well as the competitiveness of African economies.
