The headquarters of the Autonomous Port of Abidjan (PAA) served as the setting for a meeting on strategic issues for the Ivorian cement sector. This interview was marked by the presentation to the Director General of the PAA, Kassoum Traoré, of Rajesh Surana, new Managing Director of the West Africa Cluster of LafargeHolcim, whose background displays more than 20 years of experience in international leadership, notably within the Holcim group since 2005. The two parties took the opportunity to discuss the prospects for cooperation between the PAA and LafargeHolcim Côte d'Ivoire, a subsidiary of the group.
The discussions focused in particular on the logistical issues linked to the cement manufacturer's activities within the port area, a partnership already consolidated by joint industrial transport operations between the group's subsidiaries in the sub-region. The two parties also discussed the development projects of LafargeHolcim, whose expansion of its production and distribution capacities has resulted in the strengthening of its Procim network in recent years. The two leaders agreed to examine the conditions likely to accompany the implementation of these initiatives.
This hearing confirms the common desire of the PAA and LafargeHolcim to build a lasting partnership, essential to the logistical and industrial competitiveness of the Port of Abidjan.
