Agriculture: Olam Agri displays its ambitions in Ivory Coast
The agro-industrial group Olam Agri, one of the major players in the agricultural sectors in Africa, requested and obtained an audience with the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Production, Bruno Nabagné Koné. The delegation was led by Partheeban Théodore, President and Regional Director of the group. This meeting allowed Olam Agri representatives to present their vision to support the modernization of the Ivorian agricultural sector. The group, present in several links of the agricultural value chains in West Africa, presented the projects that it intends to develop in collaboration with the Ministry. The Minister, for his part, welcomed this approach, reaffirming his attachment to close cooperation with the private sector. This hearing is part of the Ivorian government's policy aimed at mobilizing private investment to accelerate the structural transformation of national agriculture, in accordance with the guidelines of the National Development Plan. Remember that Olam Agri is active in the cocoa, cotton and rice sectors in Ivory Coast.
