Yamoussoukro has entered a new energy era. Indeed, under the watchful eye of local authorities and executives of the Petroleum Stock Management Company of Côte d'Ivoire (GESTOCI), Minister Sangafowa Coulibaly initiated the commissioning of what now constitutes one of the most strategic links in the national oil logistics system. The R14 tank, with a capacity of 20,000 m³ of diesel, is added to the depot's existing installations, increasing the overall nominal capacity to 100,700 m³, compared to 80,700 m³ previously. At the same time, the first in-source loading station for tank trucks raises GESTOCI to the rank of national pioneer of this technology, applicable to both super unleaded and diesel fuel. An additional 6,000 m³ water tank was also built to reinforce the fire safety of the installations. 

On the operational level, the Minister specified that the combined loading potential of Abidjan and Yamoussoukro currently amounts to 650 trucks per day, with an ambitious objective of 1,800 trucks per day by 2030. He also indicated that more than 90% of the volumes of liquid fuels will gradually be loaded at the source, thanks to a fleet of nearly 3,000 trucks equipped for this purpose. The Director General of GESTOCI, Ibrahima Doumbia, welcomed this progress which consolidates the position of the Yamoussoukro depot as the most efficient in the sub-region, with a record turnover rate recorded in 2023.

Remember, created in 1983, GESTOCI manages several strategic depots in Abidjan, Bouaké and Yamoussoukro, at the heart of Côte d'Ivoire's energy security policy. With these new capacities, Côte d'Ivoire affirms its ambition to become a true regional energy hub, capable of sustainably supplying the country and the markets of the West African hinterland.
