The Minister of Tourism and Leisure, Siandou Fofana, representing Prime Minister Dr Beugré Mambé, officially launched the Oriental Park in Songon M'Brathé, on June 12, 2026. This large-scale tourist and leisure complex constitutes one of the most ambitious initiatives of the "Sublime Côte d'Ivoire" strategy, which aims to raise the country among the top five tourist destinations on the African continent.

For its first phase, the project mobilizes more than 120 billion CFA francs in investments. These funds will enable the creation of 3,000 direct jobs, 90% of which will be reserved for young people in Songon, as well as nearly 1,500 indirect jobs in the hotel, catering and service sectors. According to the announced schedule, the laying of the first stone is planned for September 2026, the effective start of work in January 2027, for a targeted opening in October 2028.

Speaking during the ceremony, Minister Siandou Fofana underlined the human dimension of the project, in these terms: “It embodies our desire to build modern infrastructure, inclusive and sustainable, while respecting the communities that host them. Songon will now be a reference center, for the benefit of its populations. » The Oriental Park is part of a sustained national dynamic. Côte d'Ivoire has indeed established itself as the second world economy with the most progress in tourism since 2019, according to the 2024 report of the Tourism and Travel Development Index (TTDI). 

Thus, Songon, a peri-urban commune of Abidjan, could thus become a showcase for this Ivorian tourism revival, according to the strategic vision of the Head of State H.E Alassane OUATTARA.
