Côte d'Ivoire takes a decisive step in the construction of its motorway corridor to Burkina Faso and Mali. Indeed, it has secured the financing of a missing link in its national motorway network, the one which will link Tafiré to Ferkessédougou, in the north of the country, thus opening a fast route to the land borders of Burkina Faso and Mali. This new financial contribution brings the IDB's cumulative contribution to the construction of this highway corridor to approximately $1 billion, demonstrating a long-term strategic partnership between the multilateral institution and Abidjan. This 60 kilometer section, once delivered, promises to significantly reduce transit times for goods, streamlining trade between three countries with complementary economies.

Beyond bitumen and engineering structures, it is the vocation of the Autonomous Port of Abidjan as a regional logistics platform which is reinforced by this project. By offering a modern artery to Burkinabè and Malian operators, Ivory Coast is consolidating its role as a gateway to and exit from the landlocked Sahelian hinterland. This dynamic is fully in line with the territorial competitiveness strategy supported by the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030. It must be said that transport infrastructure sustainably structures a country's economy.  class="ql-cursor">
